FAQ

  • What sets you apart from other toddler activities?

At KCK, your child will enjoy a range of sensory experiences, explore new and exciting foods, engage in socialization, develop language skills, and practice fine and gross motor skills—all while fostering independence. We blend the best aspects of music classes, story hours, and play centers into a fun, structured environment. Your child will build preschool readiness skills while having a great time!

  • Do you offer make-up classes?

If a class is canceled due to severe weather or unforeseen circumstances affecting KCK staff, we will provide make-up classes on Saturdays. Jennifer will reach out with more details if this occurs. Please note that we do not offer refunds for missed classes.

  • What if my child has food allergies?

We are highly experienced in accommodating allergies and will make every effort to provide your little chef with ingredients that closely match those used by the rest of the class. Your child will have a designated counter spot safely distanced from any allergens, and we will take great care in preparing their workspace. Please use your best judgment in determining if this arrangement meets your needs.

  • How many kids are in each class?

We welcome up to five children per class. Our small class sizes ensure that each child receives individualized attention and has plenty of space to get messy at the counter! If you are booking a private class and are interested in adding a few more children, please email

hello@kitchencounterkids.com and we can discuss alternative arrangements.

  • Do I need to bring anything?

KCK provides everything your child needs for class! We recommend bringing a change of clothes, as things can get messy. Your child is welcome to enjoy their creation upon finishing it, and while we’ll provide disposable baggies for any leftovers, you’re also welcome to bring your own Tupperware if you prefer a reusable option.

  • What if I have multiple children?

If you have more than one child between 18 and 48 months old to sign up, that’s great! You can bring one adult per child, or, if you prefer, you’re welcome to manage both on your own.

  • How many adults can I bring?

Each child must be accompanied by one adult. If you have more than one child in the class, you’re welcome to bring an additional adult. Please note that, due to the nature of the class, you must stay with your child at all times.

  • What is the age range for the class?

Our classes are designed for toddlers aged 18 months to 48 months. Younger chefs might need a bit more hand-over-hand support from their accompanying adult, while older chefs may be ready to tackle the recipe with more independence. We’ll tailor and differentiate our literacy activities to meet the needs of each little learner.

  • Where do I park?

There’s plenty of parking available, as we’re located in a private neighborhood with minimal traffic. When you arrive, please park in front of the house and enter through the door on the far left with the porch.

  • Do you use the oven or stove?

We don’t use the oven or stove! Our recipes are all no-cook and ready-to-eat to ensure everyone’s safety and fit within the logistics of our one-hour classes.

  • Do sessions run during holiday weeks?

We know how hectic the holidays can be! Our sessions are organized in 5-week increments and will not run during holiday weeks, so there will be breaks around the holidays if you're enrolled in consecutive sessions. Additionally, watch for special thematic classes during school vacation weeks in December and February. For more information, please contact hello@kitchencounterkids.com

  • Is there a waitlist?

Yes, there is a waiting list! If classes fill up and there is enough interest, we will open additional classes. You’ll be notified via email if new slots become available, so you’ll be among the first to know.
